First Hand Raw Milk

Obiously we all know where milk comes from... but to see it first hand... well that's a new one for me.  I've always half joked with Danny about buying me a cow for our back yard because I drink so much milk (and the little ones are so stinking cute!), but now I REALLY WANT ONE.  We even got to taste some of the milk while it was warm. I've never, ever had raw milk before (I know right?). It surprised me a little. It tasted, well, ummm, salty (?) is that normal? I really liked it, though, and they gave us a couple gallons to bring home... mmm the cream in our coffee was to die for.

-Did I mention I want a cow?

Super jealous! I'd love to switch over to raw milk, but it's so pricey. I also, would love a cow, but don't think it will fit in our condo. I'm trying to convince my friend Brittany to let me keep one in her back yard, but it hasn't worked yet... :)

so this was at the Joy's (Rick and Jackie) they just got two pretty jersey cows and let us come watch the milking process. They have machines and all (and a heated building to do it all in), but I would settle for a bucket and a cow in the back yard. Have you heard of miniature milk cows? Apparently they give the same amount of milk but eat less and are like half the size... lets get one :o)

I wish I could find a raw milk source down here! I need to ask around more.
